These flanking carbon-dome drivers together function as a midrange driver; the central beryllium dome is, as you might expect, a tweeter—although Perlisten calls it a "fullrange tweeter." The DPC controls horizontal and vertical dispersion—the latter effect minimizing early reflections from floor and ceiling.

“Where did Perlisten Audio come from?” That’s what I keep hearing from people when the name comes up. I don’t blame them—I wondered that, too! That’s because, I’d never heard the name until just over two years ago—though the company website states it was founded in 2016.

Theres a perception that the US, the home of muscle cars, foot-long hot dogs and canyons a mile deep, is also the home of monster-sized loudspeakers.

A four-way tower that can have its four woofers reflex- or sealed-box–loaded, the S7t features a unique high-frequency driver array with a beryllium-dome tweeter mounted in the center of a “Directivity Pattern Control” waveguide and two units with “thin-ply carbon” diaphragms above and below it.

While there’s more than one way to skin a goose, when it comes to designing loudspeakers the quality and attention to detail invested in delivering a preferred approach is just as important as the approach itself.

This subwoofer was probably one of the most fun for me to review to date. It can be nuanced or straight up startling. The intelligent amplifier tech with its ARM processor is both technically impressive and useful toward the listening experience.

Performance wise, the DS15s can be nuanced or straight up startling and can pressurize a room to deliver tactile feedback that doesn’t feel localized in any way. It’s an arm hair raising, chest pumping experience.

Perlisten’s D15s was, quite simply, the most impressive subwoofer I’ve ever heard.
As if I needed any additional evidence of the big Perlisten’s excellence, reinstating the KC62 into my living room system should have reminded me about the KC62’s virtues—of which it has many. But all I kept thinking about was Perlisten. Talk about leaving an impression.
